The CTOTF™ Swans -

Spouses Who Are Naturally Sensational (Swans) is a group of spouses and significant others who accompany the members to conferences. While spouses and significant others are invited guests to evening functions; during the day, spouses are left by themselves.  In 2004, CTOTF™ formed the very successful Swans to provide group activities, if desired, during the week while the member is in conference.  Some activities are planned for them; other activities are planned by the Swans themselves once they arrive.  Activities have included making dream catchers in Banff, a day trip to the Grand Canyon, Oregon wine tour, dolphin watching off the coast of Georgia, chef’s tables, shopping tours, an excursion to Lake Tahoe, high teas, a day trip to Sedona, Victorian home tours, Spa dinners, and so much more.  Sponsorships are obtained when possible so that the cost for any activity is either non-existent or minimal. The Swans go places and do things as a group so that no one has to be alone unless she chooses. It eases the mind of the CTOTF™ member left at the conference and provides a networking opportunity for the Swans between meetings. Several of the Swans communicate during the “off season” and have formed friendships.  At CTOTF™, no one is a stranger – at least not for long.

Why the name “Swans”?  Swans migrate twice a year – Spring and September. (The times when CTOTF™ holds conferences).  They are faithful to their mates and travel in groups.

Unwearied still, lover by lover,
They paddle in the cold,
Companionable streams or climb the air,
Their hearts have not grown old;
Passion or conquest, wander where they will,
Attend upon them still.
