Alan has worked in the power generation industry for 10 years.  He earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois in 2001 and achieved his professional engineering licensure in 2011.

After working in transmission planning and at a large coal facility will still in college, Alan formally began his career with GE Energy as an electrical, controls, and DLN tuning field engineer in 2002.  He traveled extensively to Southeast Asia and Western Europe while working for GE.  He moved to NAES in 2006 as a project manager and Alan’s responsibilities included supporting long term planning and day to day operations for combustion turbine facilities.  Currently, as the NERC Manager for NAES, he has overall NERC compliance responsibility for all of NAES’ facilities in North America.

Alan has served the CTOTF as Vice Chair of the Gen-EI&C roundtable and in 2011 accepted the responsibilities of the Vice Chair of the Regulatory and Compliance (NERC/FERC) roundtable.

Position Objective: To provide incremental business value to the CTOTF™ membership by facilitating communications, information, and discussion among CTOTF™ members, equipment manufacturers, and service providers for the Regulatory & Compliance (NERC/FERC) Roundtable and to assist the Regulatory & Compliance Roundtables Chair in planning and conducting the Regulatory & Compliance Roundtables .

This Roundtable is provided for Member Users, to exchange information regarding issues and concerns, affecting the CT power producing industry with respect to NERC/FERC.

Discussion topics for this Roundtable include: Regulatory interface and compliance.
