Changes Bring
Opportunities
|
The year 2005 was the 30th
anniversary year of the Combustion Turbine Operations Task Force (CTOTF) and
a year in which the CTOTF expanded beyond its current borders to more
fully meet the technical networking needs of turbine users around the world.
These are significant milestones in the CTOTF’s rich heritage and worth
celebrating.

In preparation for the 30th
anniversary, the CTOTF Leadership Team implemented some exciting changes to
the structure of the CTOTF conference format in 2004. These changes are
designed to improve the quality of our sessions.
The objectives of the changes are:
-
To reinforce the
fundamental philosophy that the CTOTF is turbine user centric, and a
separate and distinct organization from any other membership organization
associated with the power industry.
-
To involve more of
the turbine community to better meet their technical needs; and,
-
To implement a new
CTOTF program that provides participating vendors a platform to share
their products, services, or solutions with end users while supporting and
furthering the goals CTOTF.

We have started a new spouse group named “SWANS” (Spouses
Who Are Naturally Sensational), which is proving
to be successful in encouraging spouses to accompany the attendees to the
meetings. Prior to the institution of this group, spousal attendance
would average between 8 and 12 spouses per meeting. |

The CTOTF is a vibrant users organization –
you can play an integral part. |
